Texture
A Texture object applies a repeating image texture to the face of a BasePart. Which face the image is applied to is dependent on the FaceInstance.Face property.
Unlike Decals, the image applied by a Texture will repeat when the BasePart is resized. The size of the repeating textures is determined by the StudsPerTileU and StudsPerTileV properties.
The applied image is determined by the Texture property. For information on how to upload images, see Assets.
See also Decal for non-repeating surface images, and SurfaceGui to apply UI elements to in‑experience BaseParts.
Summary
Properties
Determines the offset in studs of the rendered texture's horizontal coordinate.
Determines the offset in studs of the rendered texture's vertical coordinate.
Sets the horizontal size, in studs, of the tiled image applied by the Texture.
Sets the vertical size, in studs, of the tiled image applied by the Texture.
Acts as a multiplier for the decal's Decal.Transparency property. The effects are only visible to the local player.
The ContentId of the image to be applied by the Decal.
Determines the transparency of the Decal with 0 being completely opaque and 1 completely transparent.
Determines the rendering order when multiple Decals are assigned the same face.
Sets what face of the brick the object appears on.
Properties
OffsetStudsU
OffsetStudsU determines how far the rendered texture is offset on the horizontal axis, in studs, as visualized here.
See also OffsetStudsV.
OffsetStudsV
OffsetStudsV determines how far the rendered texture is offset on the vertical axis, in studs, as visualized here.
See also OffsetStudsU.
StudsPerTileU
Sets the horizontal size, in studs, of the tiled image applied by the Texture.
Larger values for this property will lead to the Texture appearing larger, and repeating less frequently. Unlike with Decals, the size of the repeated image is unaffected by the dimensions of the BasePart. Instead, resizing the BasePart only increases the number of times the texture repeats.
Note that this property can be set to very low values, but not zero. Also note that the horizontal/vertical distinction is relative to the parent BasePart axis; therefore the Texture will rotate along with the BasePart.
See also StudsPerTileV.
StudsPerTileV
Sets the vertical size, in studs, of the tiled image applied by the Texture.
