The `AudioChannelLayout` enum describes the channel layout of an audio stream.
Audio streams contain one or more channels that are intended to be rendered
simultaneously with a particular arrangement of speakers. In general, more
channels impact performance but provide higher spatial quality.

Mono

Monaural audio streams contain only one **Center** channel.

Stereo

Stereophonic audio streams consist of two channels: **Left** and
**Right**.

Quad

Quadrophonic audio streams consist of four channels: **Left**, **Right**,
**BackLeft**, and **BackRight**. Quadrophonic streams can encode
forward/backward spatial information that stereo streams might struggle
with.

Surround_5

Surround sound audio streams consist of five channels: **Left**,
**Right**, **Center**, **BackLeft**, and **BackRight**. Surround sound
streams encode spatial information with better resolution front and
center.

<img src="/assets/engine-api/enums/AudioChannelLayout/Surround_5.jpg" width="810" alt="Diagram showing position of channels for Surround 5 layout." />

Surround_5_1

5.1 surround sound consists of six channels: **Left**, **Right**,
**Center**, **BackLeft**, **BackRight**, and a **Sub** (subsonic)
low‑frequency channel. 5.1 surround sound benefits from low frequencies
being less directional in order to encode higher resolution spatial
information versus simple 5‑channel surround sound.

<img src="/assets/engine-api/enums/AudioChannelLayout/Surround_5_1.jpg" width="810" alt="Diagram showing position of channels for Surround 5.1 layout." />

Surround_7_1

7.1 surround sound consists of eight channels: **Left**, **Right**,
**Center**, **SurroundLeft**, **SurroundRight**, **BackLeft**,
**BackRight**, and a **Sub** (subsonic) low‑frequency channel. 7.1
surround sound is an improvement over 5.1 surround sound, offering better
spatial resolution directly to the left and right as well.

<img src="/assets/engine-api/enums/AudioChannelLayout/Surround_7_1.jpg" width="810" alt="Diagram showing position of channels for Surround 7.1 layout." />

Surround_7_1_4

7.1.4 surround sound consists of twelve channels: **Left**, **Right**,
**Center**, **SurroundLeft**, **SurroundRight**, **BackLeft**,
**BackRight**, **Sub**, **TopLeft**, **TopRight**, **TopBackLeft**, and
**TopBackRight**. 7.1.4 is the only currently supported channel layout
that encodes height information.

This method is asynchronous and returns an `Operation`, which represents the current state of the operation. It contains an endpoint path that you can poll to obtain the real response and applicable metadata. See the [documentation]({longRunningOperationsLink}) on long-running operations for more information.

The following sections describe the response and metadata objects that are provided when an operation completes.

Beta endpoints are ready for public use. Breaking changes are possible but rare.

Scopes control what permissions your credentials have. Your credentials can only access the endpoints supported by the scopes you selected.

Stable endpoints are production-ready and will almost never experience breaking changes during their lifetime.

This target enables you to limit your key's access to selected {requiredParts}

This target enables you to limit your key's access to selected {requiredParts} and {optionalParts}

Target types are used to restrict the resources that your credentials have permissions on. Only the selected resources can be acted on even if your account has permissions on additional resources. Some scopes do not have target parts. In these cases, all of your relevant resources can be acted on.

The universe Top Level Part does not need to be selected for user-owned API Keys. In this case, your API Key will have access to all of your user-owned experiences and group-owned experiences that you have the right group permissions on.

Try It Out is not yet supported for endpoints requiring API key or OAuth 2.0 authentication

Cookie authentication is disabled for high risk operations for safety.

Critical risk endpoints are extremely sensitive and Try It Out is disabled for safety

Note: Authentication headers are not included in this code sample. You may need to add an authentication header for this command to work.

This is a high risk endpoint that can modify or delete critical data. Use extreme caution when testing.

This API endpoint has been classified as HIGH RISK and may affect live data or user accounts.

Authenticated requests to high-risk APIs can make changes that cannot be undone. Please review your request parameters carefully before proceeding.
